SHADOWS OF LIGHT

Shadows of Light was a solo exhibition held at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai between 23rd to 29th May, 2012.

The present series of work showcases her unique conceptual innovations, forms and the ensuring artistic visual appeal in the appropriate arenas. This series mostly highlights the vivid leather puppet forms of Gods, Goddesses, Human Figures, Birds, Animals, Trees, etc, and earlier versions of semi-transparent puppets in the yellow ochre and brown colours followed by the numerous transparent parts in different lines and the ensuring beautiful coloured reflections. Her artistic use of mixed media on paper with pasted overlay of rice paper to create the superb textural effect has been amply displayed in this exhibition and this, in fact, demonstrates the uniqueness of her style and creativity. - Ashish Chakraborty.
