TIMELESS
Timeless was a solo exhibition held at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai in 2001.
The neo-expressionist painter, Pratibha Wagh expresses her view, "I like to present the beauty of human relationship, the beauty of Mother Nature and things like that on my canvases." The most impressive paintings in the exhibition were Beauty and Vatsalya, in watercolour on handmade paper; Lady with Cat, in mix media on paper and Lady with Bird and Vidya-Dhanm, in acrylic on canvas. These were rich in depictions of the Indian woman in all her simplicity. It was observed, she has selected very carefully the characters that appear in her paintings without abstraction and representational distortions, but they seem to have aesthetic characteristics. Another important aspect of her strength lies in transferring her sensitivity and intensive feelings on her paintings. She had a tremendous response from her admirers.
I'm sure connoisseurs of art will empathize with Pratibha Wagh's creations without any problem due to its digressive approach. Her skilled energy, boundless enthusiasm and honest commitment to art will bring many more chances of aesthetic experience for her admirers. - R. C. Gupta (Art Critic and Historian)
